Public Information Officer

The PIO reports directly to the Chief Deputy and Sheriff serving as the liaison between the Sheriff's Office, the community and members of news media. The Sheriff's Office PIO works closely with other members of the Sheriff's Office in order to provide the most accurate and timely information possible.

The PIO role is also responsible for responding to media inquiries, distributing press releases, coordinating press conferences and public events, assisting field personnel with local media relations, disseminating public service announcements, maintaining all social media accounts, maintaining the website ensuring information is accurate and up to date, and serving as a representative for the Sheriff’s Office at local events and meetings.
